Bu's Potato Soup Recipe

Potato Soup

Ingredients:

4 white potatoes
3 Tbsp. flour
1 pint milk
salt & pepper to taste
1/2 stick margarine or butter

Instructions:

Peel and chop 4 white potatoes. Cover with water and boil until tender. (If you chopped them big, mash them a little bit with a potato masher when they are almost done.) Water should just cover potatoes.

Using a pint jar with a lid, put 2 heaping or 3 level tbsp. of flour in jar, fill with milk, and shake shake shake. (It will still have some clumps, which you don’t want, so pour it through a strainer.) Strain milk/flour into potato water. Return to a boil. Remove from heat immediately.

Add salt and black pepper to taste. After it cools a little, add big hunk of margarine.

She was beautiful and interesting and funny; it didn’t occur to me to be nervous, because it didn’t occur to me that I had a shot. I’d recently been on a string of unsuccessful internet dates, preceded by a year of celibacy, preceded by a (celibate) year of cancer treatments, preceded by a year of celibacy, preceded by a rough breakup. It seemed very plausible to me that I’d never fall in love again.
